Little Rock - U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) has received an "A" rating from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) for her votes on civil rights legislation in 2009.
"I am proud of my record fighting for pay fairness, health care coverage for all Arkansans, and funding for after-school programs," Lincoln said. "These issues are not just debates within Washington. They make a real difference in the lives of Arkansans. I will continue my work fighting for Arkansas's families."
Lincoln's "A" rating came from the NAACP's Civil Rights Federal Legislative Report Card for the first session of the 111th Congress (2009). The report card rates each Senator based on specific votes taken throughout the year pertaining to civil rights issues.
